No Surprise.

It doesn't come as a surprise that Obama has asked Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to become his Secretary of Health and Human Services. Obama appears to have a fetish for pro-abortion "Catholics". The closer they are to excommunication, the better they are in Obama's book.

Sebelius has been asked by her Archbishop to stop taking Communion until she has "acknowledged the error of her past positions, made a worthy sacramental confession and taken the necessary steps for amendment of her life," including "a public repudiation of her ... support of laws and policies sanctioning abortion."

I was surprised, however, by reports that her nominations was "applauded" by Georgia's Republican Governor Sonny Perdue. I suppose Perdue is trying to align himself with the "moderate" wing of the Republican party. Fortunately, there's nowhere else for Perdue to go in Georgia politics. Perdue is constitutionally ineligible to seek a third consecutive term as Governor in 2010. It's unlikely that Perdue will try to unseat either of the Republican Senators from Georgia so, hopefully, when his current term as Governor expires, he will retire from politics all together.
