on Immigration and Abortion

My seeing a relationship between illegal immigration and abortion started from my reading an interview with Denver's Archbishop Charles Chaput entitled Immigration Schizophrenia. His major point in the interview can be summed up in this quote:
"We want a strong economy and a good standard of living, but we also don't want to do a lot of the unpleasant jobs that help sustain that standard. So we live with a curious kind of schizophrenia. We need the "illegals," but we also want to complain about them."

It was the previous sentence in his interview that caught my attention;
"Some 40 million abortions and billions of contraceptives later, Americans have a work-force shortfall.Why is anyone surprised?"

This idea had never dawned on me before, but it seems that others had come to the same conclusion as the Archbishop. A Republican-led legislative panel in Missouri said as much in their report.

There are jobs that would go undone without the so-called "undocumented workers". With American killing it's unborn,where else will the workers come from?

I'm not buying the honorable Bishop's attempt to link two highly charged political issues together.
There have always been jobs in the US which the naturalized citizenry declined to do (especially at local and regional levels)because they had better opportunities available to them, but abortions have only been legal for the past 47 years.
Complaints about immigration have been around for two hundred years and will be around 100 years from now no matter what new laws are passed and enforced.
Incidently our immigration problems are "pidly" campared to what is happening in Europe where the vast majority of immigrants are Muslims.
