Dolphins Thwart Pirates.

China Radio International was reporting Monday that while Chinese merchant ships were being escorted through the Gulf of Aden, the ships were approached by suspected pirate ships. According to the report [news.xinhuanet.com] , thousands of dolphins suddenly leaped out of water between the pirates and the merchant ships - blocking the pirates.

The report goes on to say,
"The suspected pirates ships stopped and then turned away. The pirates could only lament their littleness before the vast number of dolphins. The spectacular scene continued for a while."

I made several phone calls in an attempt to interview Flipper and get his take on the incident, but a spokesman for the famous Bottlenose Dolphin told me that he was unavailable for comments.

The US Navy has their SEALs, and the Chi-Coms have dolphins.
