The idea that Starbucks is a "cool brand" should have been put to rest once the coffee chain opened a store in Rome, GA.
It's not that Rome is such a bad place to live.....it's just not cutting edge, if you catch my drift.
I can't remember exactly when the Starbucks opened here; actually I can't even narrow it down to the month but, I'm fairly sure it's been less than a year. I don't know (or care) if it's to be included in the 600 stores that will be closing.
It isn't that I despise Starbucks; I've never had any desire to visit one. Coffee is coffee and I'm not going to pay more for a cup of Joe than I would pay for a pound of ground coffee in even the most overpriced grocery store.
With gasoline at over $4 a gallon and with no end in sight to it's steady climb upward, we're all going to be making adjustments in our lifestyles. Restaurants and cafes will continue take hits.
It looks as if Obama's going to be swept into office by the morons longing for change. Life in this country will change, but it won't be change for the better. We'll just continue our down-hill slide. Or, as Robert Bork said, our Slouching Towards Gomorrah.

It's not just coffee...it's OVERPRICE coffee. Part of Dr. Evil's enterprises, you know (see Austin Powers 2).
