VW Number Sixty Two

Over the last few days, I've come upon this VW Beetle while driving in Dumaguete. I was unable to photograph the Beetle until this morning as I was headed to the gym.

Looking thru my photo collection, it appears that this was the first time I took a photograph of this particular one. This one makes number 62.

Route of This Year's Via Crucis in Sibulan

For the 5th year in a row, I participated this morning, in the Good Friday Via Crucis procession, which starts at the St. Anthony of Padua parish church in Sibulan. It began at 4:30 AM.

To the best of my knowledge, there are two routes for the Via Crucis in Sibulan - either thru Brgy. Magatas and Brgy. Tubtubon or a route which goes mostly thru Brgy. Cangmating and parts of Maslog.

Last year, the Via Crucis went thru Cangmating. This time, as seen in the photo to the left, we went thru Magatas and Tubtubon. Today's procession took a little less than three hours.

The Mustard Colored Beetle

Oh my goodness.

Has it really been more than a month since I last posted anything onto this blog?

I suppose if I hadn't happened upon this mustard colored VW Beetle I wouldn't be posting anything at all now.

I've come upon a couple of VWs recently, but I either didn't have my camera with me, or I spotted the car while driving. I'm tagging this one # 61.

Canary Yellow VW Beetle

I spotted this VW Beetle parked along the boulevard, just south of  Bethel Guest House. Judging by the canary yellow color, I believe this one may be the same as the first one I posted on this blog in November, 2016.

The hub caps appear to be different, but those can be upgraded easily enough.

The only way I could definitively know if they are the same would be by comparing the license plates. Sadly, I began hiding the numbers since the beginning of my posting of the VWs photos.

A Neglected Lime Green Beetle

As I've mentioned before, on days when my son is in school, I'll drive into Dumaguete long before time for him to be let out of class,so that I might find a suitable parking spot along Hibbard Ave. near the gate where he exits. I'll spend the time roaming around the city on foot. Most of the time I head south towards Lee Plaza or McDonald's, but this afternoon I went north in the direction of the Coco Grande Hotel.

I don't often walk in that direction, but I had an urge to do so today.

Just before reaching the Coco Grande, I noticed a little side street between the hotel and a section of the high school. I call this a side street because it's paved, though I could tell it wasn't open to traffic. Continuing to follow my hunch, I walked down the little street.

It actually winds down around the high school, but I didn't go that far. It was on this little street that I came upon this lime green VW Beetle.

When I came upon the Maslog VW on Sunday, I opened the back to see if there was an engine. I didn't do that with this lime green Beetle, but it's obvious that it hasn't moved in a long time.
