As it turned out, water was sucked up into the engine via the exhaust.....destroying the engine.
The accident was covered under the insurance and the company subsequently "totaled" the van.
I took one last photo after we cleaned out our personal possessions before the insurance company picked it up from the auto repair place.

Glad to hear it was covered by insurance. That flood was just...wow. Didn't expect that in Georgia.
