After Trump Loses the Election........

This election year has been so disappointing for me. We all knew Hillary Clinton would the Democrat nomination. There was no up and coming whippersnapper to snatch it from her the way Obama did 2008. It's been sad watching the Republicans nominate the only Republican who could not beat Clinton this November.

Rather than pick a young candidate with a positive message - like Marco Rubio - the Republicans picked  P.T. Barnum, and as much as Hillary Clinton is hated and despised in the U.S., Trump is probably hated more. How much more? Enough, I suspect to put Hillary and Bill back in the White House.

Four years from now, when looking for a candidate for 2020, Trump's name will be linked with McCain and Romney as less than stellar Republican presidential candidates. They'll all say, "We don't want another loser like those last three. Who wanted Trump, anyway?"

Not a few Republicans are upset with Ted Cruz today for his not endorsing Trump at the convention. Four years from now, all will be forgotten and all will be forgiven. Cruz will be able to cast himself as the only true blue Conservative who refused to sell out to Trump and the Establishment Republicans.

It's actually a pretty good move on Cruz' part.

Still, Never Trump

One of my Facebook friends who supports Trump, posted a video of Sarah Palin asking us to unite behind Donald Trump.

Sorry, Sarah......not just "No", but "Hell, no!". I cannot support Trump for POTUS. Not now, not ever. As much as I despise Hillary Clinton, I cannot throw my lot with probably the only person more narcissistic than the current President.

I'm not nearly as fearful of Clinton as I am of Trump.A Hillary Clinton Presidency will not be a pretty thing to watch, but she is the new Richard Nixon. Her time in office will not last one full term. Should she beat Trump, her basic unlike-ability with the American public will not save her from impeachment when the FBI finally presents it's report.

I've never been a fan of Trump, but the straw has now broken the proverbial camel's back with Trump pushing the story that Ted Cruz' father was somehow involved with Lee Freakin' Harvey Oswald.....I know politics ain't beanbag, but this is an all time low.

Cruz and Fiorina

Trump, reacting to news that Sen.Ted Cruz has already chosen Carly Fiorina as his vice presidential running mate, should he win the nomination, called Cruz's move "desperate".

Obviously, Cruz is hoping to stop Trump's momentum. The Senator has no chance, mathematically, of reaching the magical 1237 delegates needed to clinch the Republican nomination on a first ballot. His only hope is to prevent Trump from reaching that number himself and perhaps his VP pick will help Cruz pick up delegates in Indiana.

Earlier this year, I wrote that my choice, at the time, would be a Rubio/Fiorina ticket. Obviously, that won't happen, so I suppose a Cruz/Fiorina ticket is the best I can hope for. Personally, I believe Cruz made the right choice. Of course, not everyone agrees with me. I'm probably in a distinct minority.

I enjoy reading Michelle Malkin, but unfortunately, I haven't been following her lately. I suppose that's why it comes as a surprise to me that Malkin doesn't agree with the Fiorina pick. Malikin writes that Fiorina raises 11 red flags.

It was not at all surprising that a Cruz/Fiorina campaign would upset the crazies at Planned Parenthood but to Tweet that Cruz and Fiorina are ".....comin' for your uterus" is a bit over the top.

Trump, Palin and Cruz

I learned two amazing facts today:

1) Bristol Palin has a blog at patheos.com
2) Bristol Palin did not go to Harvard Law School.

OK, I'm not really amazed that BP did not go to Harvard Law School, but I do find it amazing that she felt it was necessary to tell us......like we might be confused about that otherwise.

I discovered this information via an article at thehill.com, Bristol Palin: I hope my mom endorses Trump.

Ms Palin has her proverbial knickers in a twist - I say "proverbial" as I have no evidence that she actually wears knickers (for any length of time, at any rate) - over a statement from someone in Ted Cruz' camp that it would be a blow to Sarah Palin's credibility should Palin endorse Donal Trump.

Of course, some of you might be surprised that Sarah Palin has any credibility, but that's not the issue.

Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler had said on CNN

"I think it [would] be a blow to Sarah Palin, because Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause, and if she was going to endorse Donald Trump, sadly, she would be endorsing someone who’s held progressive views all their life on the sanctity of life, on marriage, on partial-birth abortion"

At this point, I'm not supporting either Trump or Cruz - I don't have a dog in this fight, but I do agree with Tyler's point that Trump has not been consistently Conservative on the issues. Trump is not an idealogue by any stretch of the imagination.

In her blog, Bristol Palin calls Tyler's comment "a slam" against her mother. News flash - criticism isn't always "a slam".

If one wants to see a real example of a slam, read Bristol Palin's blog post where she slams Ted Cruz.
